5 out of 5 stars 4 lb body bar   September 3, 2010

I use this 4 lb body bar to add to my body weight during toning exercise. It's comfortable to use and is excellent when strengthening legs and lower back.

The one and only review (at this moment) for this product is bologna. It is from a customer upset about some packaging and is not indicative of the product itself at all.

I have used these body bars (all sizes) for all sorts of exercises. I'm a certified instructor and appreciate the versatility and comfort of them. They are nice and soft so they shouldn't hurt your shoulders if you are squating or lunging, but they are firm enough and sized right to be useful for arms/shoulders/chest.

I used to be part of a gym that used them multiple times a day during multiple classes and they seemed to hold up just fine. The only wear there might have been was on the tag that says what weight they are, but the color lasted (they are color coded and slightly different widths based on weight) and if you aren't using them for industrial fitness uses, you should be all fine.

Try using them in conjunction with an exercise ball. I'm sure you can google stuff to do like chest presses.

As an older woman,(with Arthritis), this bar helps me stay balanced and I can use it to help get myself off of the floor after exercising!!!!

I bought it to use with a Kimberly Spreen kickboxing video for "combat intervals," but I've been using body bars for years. You can use them with both hands more like a barbell or with one hand more like a dumbbell. Or, as I intended for this one, to use with some momentum-type movements with both hands.
